HKCF Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Wait, I'm over 18 - can I come?!
A: Of course! Our focus on kids doesn't exclude adults. It does mean that there will be a higher population of children than there would be at a normal convention. Meaning panels and activities skew younger in age interest. Safely from 7 - 13, with a panel or two with an older focus, 10 - 18. We will not stop you or your child from attending anything you're interested in.
Q: What do you do at a convention?
A: Many things! There are panels and workshops. Vendors selling books and food. Saving the best for last, there's the festival floor. The largest part of the festival is the open room where you'll find all of our creators. You can interact with creators one on one, talk about their work, and purchase sketches, prints, or books!
We have other events such as our raffle, art contest, and costume parade - there's a lot to keep you busy!
Q: Who's going to be there?
A: For an updated list of our guests, you can simply travel over to that page! We'll do our best to update it the moment a creator is confirmed.
Q: How much does this cost?
A: We're a donation-based event. To give you an idea, we'd suggest $5 for an individual and $10 for a family. However, if you want to waltz in without paying a dime - please do! As a non-profit, we're more focused on education and interactions than we are on fund-raising. That said, 100% of money raised goes to the following years festival.
Q: Can I dress up?
A: Please, please, please, dress up! What's a festival without a little costume and cos-play? We hold a costume parade, so in the middle of the con you'll be invited to tour around the floor showing off your spectacular duds. There is no age restriction for parade participants!
Q: When is it?
A: This year the Festival is May 19th, from 10am - 3pm.
Q: Where is it?
A: The 3rd Annual HKCF will be held at Haverford Middle School this year. The address is 1701 Darby Rd, Havertown PA, 19083.
Q: I've noticed some...goats around the website. What's up with that?
A: They're our mascot! Haverford is old welsh for "Goat Crossing". It was too wonderful of a pun to give up, "Haverford Kid's Comic Festival". Despite their prevalence on our site, goats are discouraged from attending HKCF.
Q: You didn't answer my question, what do I do?
A: If you don't see the answer you're looking for, simply reach out to us through our contact form!
